U.S. citizens may hold a second valid passport when one is needed, for example when your main passport is at a consulate for a visa while you still need to travel. A second passport is issued with 4 years of validity.

A second passport is only valid for two years.
How to Apply
- Do not sign the application until instructed to do so.
- You must provide a Social Security number, if you have been issued one, in accordance with 22 U.S.C. 2714a and 22 C.F.R 51.60(f)
Please provide the original of one of the following:
- Valid Drivers License.
- Valid State or Government Identification.
- Valid Military Identification.
- If you cannot submit primary identification, please see secondary identification.
- If you have undergone or are going through gender transition, see additional requirements.
- You must submit your current undamaged passport.
- The expired passport will be returned to you along with the new passport.
- If you have a copy of your flight itinerary or ticket, please include it.
- If you do not have a travel itinerary or a ticket, it’s okay.
- Passport photo services available at our offices.
- Must be 2″ x 2″ on a white background.
- Photo must not be older than one month.
Must be an original with a wet signature from the company in the US explaining why a second passport is needed.
